BroadWave is designed to allow you to stream live audio from your computer across the internet. If this is your first time running BroadWave then follow these steps to get started:
If you would like to stream live audio:
Connect the microphone you wish to stream to your computer.
Click the 'Streams' button on the main toolbar of BroadWave.
Click 'Add Stream' and select a name and device for your stream.
Click OK and the click the 'Connect' button to display this page with the link details for your stream.
If you want to stream pre-recorded audio:
Add recordings from the main BroadWave window by clicking the 'Audio Files' button. Adding multiple files will generate a link for a playlist below, as well as links for each individual file.
To make your stream available from the public Internet, click the 'Connect' button from the main BroadWave window to launch this page where you can see the links to your live and pre-recorded streams. You can click any of the links to test if the streams work. Add the links to your website to make them available to outside listeners.
If you are having problems making your streams accessible from the public Internet, and you see warnings about your connection from the BroadWave application, you can begin by trying Options -> Web Access-> "Run Web Routing and Test Wizard" to set up your firewall or router automatically. If you still have problems please click here for more information on how to configure your router and firewalls. This is just an information setup page for BroadWave to provide the links. Ask your website developer to include these links in your website.
If you do not want BroadWave to automatically select the type of stream the user will receive, then you can provide links to specific stream formats. To do so, replace the .m3u file extension in the links provided below with the stream type you wish to provide. Supported stream types are .asx, .m3u, .mp3 and .pls. Please be aware that not all of these links will work on all computers. This is an advanced option only. In most cases you will be better to allow BroadWave to select the stream for you.
You are currently using the free version of this software. In free version, you can have only one live stream and two simultaneous listeners. You can purchase a "Professional" version at www.nch.com.au/cgi-bin/register.exe?software=broadwave.
